whoop whoop we had our first baptism Saturday! The funniest & cutest little 9 year old boy named Santiago was baptized. His family recently got reactivated and I came in about half way through his lessons. It was waaay cute & so special!! After his baptism his mom had made flan/dulce de leche cake (SOOOO good) and the whole ward and his family stayed and chatted after, it was waaaay fun and great to be a small part of it all!
I actually was able to talk to a lot of people and understand them a little better, which was fun haha. I was talking to a little 8 year old girl who isn't a member and she was hilllariiiioooous. These little kids talk like they're 25!! She was telling me just how much she loooves jesus and her church, and the Bible and I was like no way:) We love Jesus so much too!! And guess what.....we have another book like the Bible!! And she was like NO WAY!! and so now she is reading the Book of Mormon now too hahaha soo funny and so precious!
So I think this is the second baptism in Las Flores in 2 and a half years or something crazy like that!!! I can hardly believe it! So we reallly want to help turn around this area and get it up and running again:)
The other day I was on splits with the sister training leader (splits is when we trade/swap companions for the day) we were walking by a house that we had contacted last week and I felt like we should go talk to them again. So we started talking and I was like ok sweet do you guys have a minute and they were like oh for sure! which totally shocked me, most people make up some weird excueses as to why they can't talk haha but anyways long story short we had this waaay good lesson with Esteban, his wife Celeste and his crazy 3 kids running around everywhere (kinda like me and Sage would do when people came over when we were little haha) Esteban especially was reallly just soaking everything in about how the Gospel can and WILL bless their lives and he was just super reseptive and committed to go to chruch and everything. Celeste wasn't as excited BUT thats ok, we are reallly hoping they contiunue to progress and grow, They couldn't make it to church on Sunday which we were waaay bumbed about, but thats ok too, we're holding on to the faith!!
uuumm nothing else too exciting and not a ton of time to write. I hope you're all doing good! love love!!
I received (mamacita Shepard:) an awesome email this morning from the mission secretary I thought I would post on the blog:) It was such a nice surprise to wake up to:) It made my day a little brighter:)
I just wanted you to know I was with your cute missionary on Sat. for her baptism. She is such a delightful missionary and she and Hna.Small are doing some great work in Las Flores. They are working so hard and seem to get along great. I told her I would write you. Thanks for sharing her with us…our mission is blessed to have her serve.
